Dr. Yarett is board certified in internal medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Swarthmore College, with a major in biology and minor in peace and conflict studies. He received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and then completed his internal medicine residency at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York, NY.
After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Yarett worked for several years as a reporter and editor for Newsweek magazine, where he wrote health, science and environment stories, and led major data-driven projects including Newsweek’s annual Green Rankings. Prior to starting medical school, he served as a project analyst on the Integrative Medicine Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. In this role, he published a peer-reviewed paper on disproven alternative cancer treatments and bi-monthly articles for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Post. Additionally, Dr. Yarett co-authored a book titled Survivorship: Living Well During and After Cancer, a guide to integrative medicine for newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Dr. Yarett has published and presented numerous research papers. His special interests include integrative medicine and dietary/lifestyle approaches to prevention and management of chronic disease. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and is affiliated with Greenwich Hospital.
