Dr. Pennicott is a board-certified pediatrician and lactation consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biological anthropology with a minor in global health from Emory University in Atlanta, GA followed by her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Pennicott went on to complete a pediatric residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY and a pediatric hospital medicine Fellowship at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL.
Prior to joining Westmed, Dr. Pennicott worked as pediatric hospitalist at the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In this role, she provided inpatient pediatric care for complex and acute medical problems.
Dr. Pennicott completed medical missions to Haiti, Ghana, Uganda, India and Peru, where she provided medical assistance, health care and prevention education to residents.
Dr. Pennicott is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
